Only Fools Fall For You Novel – Deep down I know my feelings for my wife, Yemi were gone and it was taken over by Yolanda, her best friend. Her body was beautiful, unlike Yemi. She had too much fat and she was heavy, I couldn’t move the way I wanted with her. “I know you want me, I know that Yemi can’t satisfy you.” She clamped my hands around her small, plump hip. Her smooch was like venom to me. I looked at my wedding ring, sliding it off my finger. I’ll finally have my freedom. Next thing I know, she was bent over screaming my name.
Yemi Jones I fell back on the chair, exhausted from yet another day at my wedding dress store. I called it Blackbird Boutique. I checked the time. “I should be heading home.” I picked my up my bag and looked at my employee, Janice. “Lock up for me?” She smiles, giving me a simple nod. “Sure thing, see you later.” I waved at her getting into my car. I remembered my wedding like it was just yesterday. My husband and I were in love for 5 years before he popped the question. My parents were unsure of him but he made me happy. I’ve always loved weddings and I wanted to make others smile just as big as I did. My best friend was there with me all the way. She would support me in everything I do. She was there for me when my husband and I were in a hard place. She spoke to him and then everything was good after that.
A couple years into our marriage, we made beautiful twin girls names Zamia and Zania Jones. They looked just like me with their father’s eyes. When I got home, I turned into my yard, watching the gates closed behind me. Looking up, I saw my best friend, Yolanda’s car. Maybe she came to see me. I hopped out the car and went inside to hear my husband and Yolanda whispering. “Don’t tell her, I know this secret is hard to keep but we can’t let her know.” But then I remembered that my birthday was coming soon, maybe they were planning a surprise for me. I ruined it, now I know. “Don’t worry I won’t.” With that I walked in like nothing was going on. The two of them shot up like they were caught red handed. “Baby, you’re home.”
He came up to me, giving me a smooch which I returned. “Yeah I just got here.” Bentley grinned before looking at Yolanda. “Did I interrupt something?” I asked. She shook her head before grabbing her keys. “Nothing at all, I was just leaving.” My husband looked at me with a smile. “The girls are upstairs, taking their little nap before dinner.” Was all he said to me, no ‘I miss you,’ nothing. Which was weird. “I’ll come back down to make us something to eat, okay?” Bentley shook his head before walking out to the pool area. Why was he behaving like this? Was is something I did? – I finished cooked dinner and called them down to eat but only the girls came down. “Where’s your father?” They both shrugged. “Daddy said he’s not hungry.” That’s strange. “Did daddy eat anything before I came home?” They shook their heads once again. “No, Yoyo, brought some pizza and that was it.” Zania spoke before sitting down.Shrugging it off, I sat with my girls and we ate.
He probably isn’t feeling well. When dinner was over I got the girls ready for bed then went to my room to find my husband, reading. “Why didn’t you eat with us?” I asked walking to his side of the bed. “I wasn’t hungry.” He answered avoiding eye contact. Frowning at him, I sat down, placing a hand on his lap which he moved. “What’s the problem?” Bentley took a breath in and looked at me. “I’m just thinking that’s all.” Thinking, huh? My eyes traveled to his left hand. “Where’s your ring?” Now that I look back on it, he wasn’t wearing his ring when I came home. “I was so busy with the girls today, I didn’t get a chance to put it on.” He rushed out. “Oh, well okay then.” – I placed my night shirt on and got into bed with him. “I love you, Bentley.” His blue eyes looked into my brown ones. “I love you too, Yemi.” He placed a quick smooch on my lips before turning away from me. My heart fell, what did I do? Without saying a word, I turned over and fell asleep.
Maybe at my birthday things would change. I know when he has to keep a secret, he gets all weird. He’s really trying to keep this surprise from me. The next morning, I woke up to an empty bed and voices downstairs. I walked to the kitchen to see Yolanda, Bentley and the twins singing and dancing around the place. I looked at my husband and my heart dropped. He looked so happy with her. “Mummy come dance with us!!” Zamia spoke, laughing. When they saw me, the both of them stopped. “Good morning, everyone.” My girls smooched my cheek and I went to smooch my husband but he turned, causing me to smooch his cheek. He’s still acting weird. Yolanda cleared her throat before giving me pancakes on a plate.
“Eat up, you have work in a few.” She pat my butt, making me giggled. While eating, Bentley kept his eyes on my best friend the entire time. I got up. “I’ll get ready for work.” Yolanda nods, smiling. “I’ll get the girls ready to go to school, don’t worry.” I thanked her as I made my way to my room. Please tell me that I wasn’t loosing my husband. “Bye daddy!!” The girls yelled, getting in Yolanda’s car. He waved to them before he turned seeing me and his entire face changed. “I’m off to work, call me if you need anything.” I turned away but he called me back. “I’m sorry for acting weird last night, I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings.”He smooched my softly on my lips. When we pulled away all I did was smile. “It’s fine.” He rubbed my hands then let go. “You’ll be late to work.” He put me in my car and looked at me as I drove off. Soon after my phone started ringing. It was my twin sister Nina. She somehow made everything better. “Hey my ugly sister.”
Her voice rang through the car. “Ugly? Do I have to remind you that we have the same face?” She laughed at me. “How are you? Is the husband treating you well?” I frowned. “You’re taking long to answer so that’s a no, you want me to beat he for you?” “No, it’s just, I feel insecure sometimes and I feel like he’s cheating on me.” “It’s probably because you keep that bimbo of a friend around, you know she loves wearing things around your man. And another thing, get a driver to take the girls to school, I don’t trust that bimbo with my nieces.” Nina never liked Yolanda, she said she was a bimbo, sent to destroy me. “You know she won’t do that to me. She supports our relationship.” Nina only hummed like she didn’t believe me. “Well I’ll be on my way, Marcus is struggling with Dante again.” With that she hung up. My sister was married for 7 years, one more than me and she has a two kids just like me but Dante was born a year ago and her eldest son, Christian was born the same time with the twins. Don’t loose faith in your husband, Yemi. – Yemi Jones Three more days for my birthday.
I looked down at my girls who were playing in the tub. “Mummy, why do you look so sad?” Zamia asked me while playing with the bubbles in her hands. “Mummy’s not sad baby, just tired.” Zania shook her head. “We know when our mummy is sad.” These girls know me too well. “Is it because daddy no smooch you?” They picked that up? “No baby, it’s not that at all.” They both frowned. “Did daddy do something bad?” They both gasped. God they were too smart. “No, I’m just tired, really.” But I wasn’t lying. I’m tired of the way he was treating me. It’s been two weeks and it’s been the same.
“Okay mummy.” I got them out and dried them off. “I’ll change them.” I looked up to see him. His eyes were locked on mine. “Sure.” I stepped away as he past me and I smelt a perfume that was so familiar to me. Where did I smile that before? I made my way to my room and looked through the dirty clothes to find some of his work clothes. They all smelt the same. His white shirt had lipstick on the collar. My lips got dry, my heart pounding in my chest.
