Rejected By One Loved By The Other Novel – Melody’s dad is the beta of the Skyline Pack. Their pack is in California the pack itself is well off, most members act like they are high class snobs. Her life was great, her mother and father loved her and her brother. She thought they were a happy family, that was until the day her mom, Laurie, left them. When Melody was ten years old, Laurie found her fated mate and left her dad, Michael. This just about broke him, and her brother, Eric, who was 12 at the time. When Laurie first left, Michael still kind of cared about Melody, was distant but not cruel. As time has gone by he has grown to hate her. He calls her names and says she is just like her mother and how he feels sorry for Melody’s mate because she will leave him like Laurie did. Even her brother has joined their father in the name calling and pushing her around.
Because of them the pack has started doing the same thing to her. Melody does most of the cooking and cleaning in the pack house. They gave her a bedroom in the storage area in the basement. This started when she turned eleven and got worse when she turned twelve, and every year since. Now being almost eighteen things have been harder. “Why are you here I told you I didn’t want to see you around our suite. Get in your basement.” “I am finishing up cleaning, Dad. I will be done soon.” A hard slap goes across her face. “You should have been done already now get out.” She has turned out just like Laurie, she has her face but prettier, she also has her build.
The only difference is Melody has much darker hair like Michael, who calls her a bimbo every day, even though she is still a virgin. It doesn’t matter, I will find my mate soon and he will take me away from this, at least I hope so, with what they say about me he might run. This is Melody’s fear that he will not want her. Her only friend is Bonnie, she tells everyone that Melody is not her mother, that it is not fair to judge her. She still goes to school with Bonnie, and they spend most of their free time together. The senior year trip is coming, all the kids are going skiing. “Dad, the senior class trip is coming up.” “So, what has that got to do with me?” “I was hoping you could help me pay for it, please?” “Why would I spend my money on someone like you? You have a job pay for it by yourself.” That is what she thought he would say.
“Melody, is your dad going to help pay for your trip?” “No, he won’t help pay for it, Bonnie. You go and have fun, tell me about it when you get home.” “Let me talk to mom, she might help, her and dad think the world of you.” She has some money saved up, the work she does here does get a small paycheck. Not enough for this trip, especially since she is saving to leave when she turns eighteen and done with school. “I told mom I couldn’t go without you, that it would not be fun. She said fine and she is going to pay your way.” “Your mom is the best, she is always trying to take care of me. Whenever I got hurt, she has been there for me. Tell her I said thank you.” Melody has packed her clothes for the trip, she doesn’t have a lot of clothes, so she packed almost all of them. Bonnie gave her a dress, the only nice outfit she has and it fits her so nice.
The school is closed for winter break, from Thursday to Monday. Bonnie is meeting Melody at school to catch the bus at six o’clock on Thursday morning. Her brother is not in school anymore he graduated, his best friend Drew, the future Alpha, is a senior this year. He has been away for over two years in Alpha training, so he missed his last year of high school and is making it up. My brother, Eric, becomes the beta when Drew becomes the Alpha. Drew came back a week ago, most of the girls in school haven’t seen him yet. “Hi Bonnie, I can’t believe you did this for me, thank you so much.” “Melody, you don’t have to thank me, this trip would be so lame without you.” “You have friends you don’t need me.” “Not as cool as you, Girl. You are my besty and nothing will change that. Let’s get on that bus.” The bus ride was only two hours long to the mountains.
Bonnie brought her music with her, the two of them sang to the music and had such a good time. Ignoring the others on the bus who kept looking at them. As the bus pulls up to the hotel the students start to exit, “You sounded really good, Melody. Even with Bonnie squalling in the background. I wanted to thank you for the help in math. I passed the test on Monday.” “Thanks, Carrol, if you need more help let me know.” When they step off the bus Melody is surprised. “Look at this place, Bonnie.” This place is huge, the hotel was massive with wooden beams and large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The floors were white marble, and the counters had a wooden top that looked like the center of a tree, it is beautiful.
There are only twelve kids that made the trip today, some are coming on Friday in their own cars. “I have the room key, Melody, let’s go.” The room has two queen size beds with matching dressers. The ensuite has a large shower with a rain head and a massage handheld. It has two sinks with mirrors that light up, they’re wonderful for doing makeup. The girls both flop down on the beds giggling and enjoying the time away from the pack house. “Let’s go to the indoor pool.” Bonnie yells. “I can’t.” “Why not? Girl, you are beautiful in a bikini.” “Not after what Eric did.” She lifts her shirt showing Bonnie the bruises on her sides. “That has to hurt. Well, girl you can wear a t-shirt over the bikini. No one will see anything.” “He has done a lot worse, so has a lot of the pack. I am a werewolf, the bruise will only last to the end of the day.” I lay back down on the bed just staring at the ceiling. There is no one at the pool thankfully, it is just the two of them.
They are having so much fun talking about their plans for when school is over. Bonnie wants the both of them to go to the same college. That way they could spend the next four years together. They run upstairs change, then go out for dinner. “I’ll pay for it,” Bonnie says. “I can pay for mine. I brought my savings with me. I have saved for the last five years, I can spend a little of it.” “You worked too hard to get that money. You don’t spend money on clothes or anything for yourself. So, I will pay for anything you want this trip, this weekend is on me.” “You are the best, bestie there is. I haven’t had this much time off in forever. I wish we never had to go back there.” Melody is getting sad thinking about her life. “Hey, knock it off we have this time to have fun, no sad just happy times.” She takes her hand, “Let’s explore a little.” Friday morning, Melody wakes up hearing Bonnie singing happy birthday bringing her a stack of pancakes with a candle in it.
“Here this is for your birthday. Open it.” She opens the box to find the most beautiful dress she has ever seen. It is made of a shimmering material that reflects the light. The dress is full length with slits up to the thighs, the cream color goes perfect with her dark brown hair. “You gave me a dress already you shouldn’t keep spending money on me.” “It is for tonight at the dance. You are going to look so beautiful in it. Mom wanted to make this weekend special for you so she helped me get it for you. She even got you shoes.” Melody was about to cry when Bonnie elbowed her. “Let’s eat then go out to the slopes.” Bonnie gives her a smile. The two of them join the rest of the group and spend the day skiing the slopes. When the whole group comes in, they sit by the fire drinking hot chocolate, enjoying the banter with each other.
As they leave to go upstairs, in walks Eric, her brother, and the future Alpha Drew. Drew stops, smells the air. Looking around he spots Melody running up the stairs. After seeing her running away to her room he whispers something in Eric’s ear. Bonnie follows Melody catching up to her at the room. “This has been a good day. We have to get ready for the dinner and the dance.” Bonnie says trying to lift Melody’s spirits after seeing her brother show up. “I don’t think I want to go, not with Eric there and he will have all of the rest of them being prick to me.” “It is you and me girl, with the rest of them. It’s your birthday don’t spend it all alone in your room.” “Bonnie, it is going to ruin your evening.” “Not having you there is going to ruin my evening. Come on let’s see you in that dress.” The two of them get dressed up and look exquisite, ready to party.
When they go downstairs all eyes are on the two of them, several men walk over to Melody asking her to dance. While she is on the dance floor Drew goes over to Bonnie, “Can I have a word with you away from Melody?” “What can I help you with Drew?” “Melody is my mate and I want to surprise her tonight and spend it with her.” “Is this some sort of joke? I’m not going to let you hurt her.” “I’m not going to hurt her, I want her.” “You really want her? You promise.” “Yes, Bonnie, I promise. She is sweet and after seeing her in that dress, how could I not want her.” Bonnie smiles, “I can bunk in another room.” The Alpha and Eric don’t join the rest of them, letting Melody enjoy the night. “Melody I will be up in a minute, I have to make a phone call.” “Oh, okay I will see you in the room.”
As Melody enters the hallway, she is standing at her door Drew comes up behind her scaring her. “Hi beautiful, do you remember me?” “Yes, Alpha Drew.” She smells him then looks at him in the eyes, “You’re my mate.” “That’s right baby girl, and I want you.” A tear falls down her face. “You really want me?” She says shaking nervously. He then grabs her and finishes opening the door, leading her into the bedroom, then over to the bed. “Let me show you how much I want you.” Melody needs love from someone, this is her mate. Looking him in the eye, “I have never done anything.” He smiles at her, “I’ll take care of you. Let’s get you out of this dress.” He turns her around undoes her zipper allowing the dress to fall to the floor. He then unclips her bra, allowing it to slide down. Looking at her, “You are beautiful, Melody.” She flushes. He tells her to lay on the bed, she does as she’s told. Drew takes his fingers under her waist band then pulls her panties down.
She shivers while he crawls over her body, his pecks are soft. Running pecks down her neck to her breasts, pecking each papilla first one then the other. Pecking them over and over, each one getting harder showing her desire. His hand roams down her stomach to her cherry. When she leaves the bathroom, her brother is in the bedroom. She looks between Drew and Eric. “Melody come here.” She looks in his eyes with fear in hers.
“I need you to accept my rejection.” He says coolly. “You said you wanted me.” “I do. You are the only one who can give me children. Alphas very rarely get she-wolves pregnant unless they are their mates.” “Then why are you rejecting me?” “You will have a house of your own on the pack land, and not need for anything. When I want or need a child, or just want you, I will come to you. Then the one I choose to be Luna will raise the child. Of course, I will let you see the child as an aunt not as the mother.” “You want me to be your mistress? A mistress for my own mate?” “It won’t be so bad, wait and see. Eric teases, “That’s a good girl. We don’t want to leave you in the dungeons. If you couldn’t accept this you would have to spend the rest of your life there. I’m glad you listened.” “Eric is bringing me back to the pack we’ll get things ready.” “Dad always thought you would be a waist, at least you can be worth something as a breeder.” “Eric stop. You are going too far. We will meet you when the bus gets in on Monday. But first things first. I, Alpha Drew Hampton, reject you, Melody Timmons, as my mate and Luna.” “I, Melody Timmons, accept your rejection, Alpha Hampton.” There is a sharp pain in both their chests, as the bond breaks. The two of them leave her in the room by herself. She waits for them to leave to start crying.
Bonnie comes in the room all smiles until she sees her friend. “Melody what is wrong? Don’t you like your mate?” “He doesn’t want me, he rejected me. Then he wants me to live on pack land and he is going to breed me. I’m not good enough to be his Luna. He wants me to be his mistress and I’m his mate.” “He can’t do that! What kind of pathetic prick is he?” “The kind that if I say no, they are going to keep me in the dungeons. I won’t even be allowed to raise my children. He is going to pick out his own Luna.” “That is crazy, he said he wanted you.” “He wanted me, he wants me to be his mistress.” “Oh, Melody I’m so sorry.” “They are letting me stay here with you to finish my trip. I’m going to run when they are gone.
They have to go back to the pack for some reason. I have my savings with me and most of my clothes. Please help me sneak out.” “I have about four thousand in my savings I can give you. It is Saturday if you leave today you will have about thirty-five hours before they even know you are gone. If they catch you, I’m afraid they will hurt you.” “I know, but that is not a life. I have to try to get away.” “Well then let’s get you packed. I am giving you some of my clothes, leave your rags here. This way you will have something decent to wear. “ “I am only taking a backpack, it will be easier to carry. It won’t hold a lot but it will have to do.” “You can fit about four outfits in there. Let me get the money for you.” “I don’t want your money; I don’t need it. What are you going to tell them? You can’t let them know that you knew that I left?”
“That’s easy, I am telling them you said you were leaving with them. As for the money, you need it more than me.” “Bonnie, thank you so much.” They hold each other like it is the end of the world. “The money is in my suitcase, no one even knows I have it. Let’s pack and get you out of here.” “Are you all packed?” “All packed. I have a plan, with the money you gave me, and my savings I will make it. I just have to be careful.” “Melody, don’t tell me your plan if they Alpha order me I have to tell them.” One last shower and clean clothes. I look at Bonnie. “I am ready to leave.” “It’s eight o’clock you better go I will miss you, I wish I could go with you.” “I do too, don’t forget me.” “Never, if we hurry you will be able to sneak out the back. Drew left some men here to watch out for the pack. Make sure they don’t see you.” I nod and leave with red swollen eyes.
