Revenge On My Cheating Ex-Boyfriend Novel – I was sure he caught me looking and My face turned bright red. He sat down and gave me a devilish smirk and, for some reason, my heart sped up and I had trouble catching my breath. His bright blue eyes stared into mine, for what seemed like an eternity, before he finally spoke. “So you going to tell me What happened” I stared at Marcus and suddenly found it very difficult to talk. “I’m waiting” he prodded gently when I failed to respond. “Well, like I already told you. Cole is cheating on me.” I stated calmly, taking a deep breath in before I spoke” I went home and caught him in bed with my best friend.” I choked on the last word as a wave of sadness washed over me. “So what did they do when they saw you?” Marcus asked. I glanced at his face and saw him looking at me with pity.
Ana’s POV I pulled up to my house and let out an let out an overexaggerated sigh. I was exhausted after being gone for so long but the knowledge that I would be able to sleep in my own bed tonight made me ecstatic. I rummaged through my purse for the keys and made my way towards the front door. I thought about Cole and smiled to myself. He was away on a business trip and wasn’t due back for a few days so decided to come home early and surprise him with a clean house and a stocked fridge. It wasn’t anything huge but I’ve always been a believer that the little things mattered. Since I met Cole I had the desire to take care of him, to be a good girlfriend and to prove to him, once and for all, that I could be a good wife. At the beginning of our relationship, Cole would talk about proposing and narrate our whole life together.
He would talk about having children, where we would live, and how we would grow old together. As our relationship moved out of the honeymoon phase, he would speak of these things less frequently. It now felt that I was the only one pushing this relationship forward and he was becoming more indifferent about our future. When asked, he would complain about his heavy workload, my heavy workload and our lack of time together. He would make promises then break them, repeatedly, always blaming it on work. I finally found my keys and walked up to the front door noticing a light on in our bedroom. I rolled my eyes and cursed him out loud. I felt like I was a broken record and no matter how many times I reminded him, Cole always forgot to turn off the lights. Grumbling to myself, I opened the door and entered the foyer taking off my shoes in the process.
It took me a moment to realize that something felt off and I was unable to calm myself. I could feel my heart beating faster as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. The air in the house felt heavy and suffocating. Confused, I spotted two spirits glasses and a bottle of red sitting on the kitchen counter. I stood still and listened as something caught my attention. I faintly heard a woman’s laughter and soft moans coming from upstairs. Feeling queasy, I made my way up to the bedroom, trying to get my eyes to focus and not trip over something in the dark. As I neared the room, I distinctly heard my boyfriend’s voice coming from the other side of the door. “God baby you feel so good” The woman laughed through her heavy breathing and responded with louder moans. I could hear my boyfriend climax followed by the sound of their bodies shuffling on the bed.
The woman, whose voice was very familiar, spoke first “Cole, when are you going to tell her about us? It’s been months of us sneaking around and I’m getting sick and tired of pretending to be happy for you two. You know it’s frustrating. How much longer are you going to keep this going?” “Soon Elise,” His voice was gentle, “you’ve said yourself that she’s an angel that everyone adores. If I leave now she will do something stupid and destroy our reputations in the process. There are things I still need to figure out before I can end it and I don’t want to lose the house or let her get anything that should be mine. I called the lawyer yesterday and he said he’ll find a loophole to let me keep everything. You just need to be patient” Cole responded sounding incredibly confident. I took a step back and placed my hand over my mouth while trying to control my tears.
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, and worse, I couldn’t believe that the woman on the other side of that door was my best friend Elise. I stood in the hallway and stared at the bedroom door, deciding what I should do. A huge and overpowering part of me wanted to barge in to the room and scream at them both. Another part of me wanted to think rationally and remove myself from the house before I could make any kind of move. I heard him say that he was trying to take everything from me, so I needed to figure out what kind of loophole would allow him to do just that. I made my way to the front door and walked onto the street, slamming the door behind me. At that moment, I didn’t give two pircks if they heard me, I just needed to get out of there as quickly as possible. Coles POV I heard a loud slam coming from downstairs and sat up in a panic.
Ana was not due to come back home for a few days so I was unsure of who could have entered the home. I was positive I locked the door, and besides Ana and Elise having a key, no one else would have access to our home. I poked my head into the hallway and whispered, “Hello, anyone there?” I repeated myself louder and, when convinced no one was there, moved to the window and looked outside. As I scanned our neighborhood, my heart almost stopped when I thought I saw Ana’s white Nissan Rouge driving down the street and away form our house. I felt my throat tighten as I struggled to take a breath. Snapping out of it, I found my jacket and frantically looked for my cell phone. Once located, I unlocked it and shakily dialed her number. “Honey, what is it,” Elise asked slightly panicked. I knew how I looked and felt like I was going to pass out. “She’s not picking up” I pressed redial and listened to it ring. “You don’t think that was her? I spoke to her yesterday and she wasn’t coming back for a few more days. Stop panicking” Elise spoke, clearly annoyed at my reaction. I knew what she was thinking.
If I didn’t care about Ana AND was planning on leaving her, why was I acting like this? I swear she looked like she was going to hit me as I dialed the number again. After the third try I felt a wave of relief when I heard a faint “Hello” on the other side of the call. – “Ana, where are you?” I could hear that Cole sounded stressed and took that as a win. It wasn’t much but it did make me feel better. “Just about to go into a meeting, listen Cole, I gotta go” I replied and hung up. I could only control my emotions for a brief moment but I hoped that it was enough to calm him. I couldn’t help to wonder, though, if I had made the situation worse by picking up. I placed my phone down and sobbed into the steering wheel as I cursed myself for coming home early. Less than 30 min ago, I was blindly happy. Once I composed myself, I pulled up the GPS and searched for any bars that were close in the vicinity. If I remembered correctly, there was a place called Browns somewhere near me and although I had no idea where I would be spending the night, I needed something to numb the pain.
After my 5th drink, I finally snapped out of my daze and realized I would need to find a place to crash for the night. I had enough cash to cover the bill but didn’t want to use my cards at a hotel. As far as Cole knew, I was still in Toronto for a work conference. I sat there and pondered my options and realized I didn’t have any. I haven’t made too many friends since moving to San Francisco so my options were limited to two. One was my “best friend” Elise, who entered the residency program at the same time, and the other, was Marcus Ross, the CEO of Avi Pharmaceuticals and Cole’s boss. With no other choice, I convinced myself that it would be ok. Marcus had always been pleasant and made an effort to talk and catch up at every event. He often had us over for dinners and drinks and offered a helping hand if I ever needed one. I pulled up his number and decided to take him up on that offer. The worst he could do is say no and/or maybe call Cole. No going back now.
I clicked on his screen and sent a quick “Can you come over?” I decided to get Straight to the point! No need to fill the conversation with small talk and pleasantries. I needed to get his attention as It was just after midnight and the room was beginning to spin. I noticed my phone light up and I opened his message. Marcus responded “Send me your location, and I’ll come and get you” I sent him the name and address of the bar and decided to order another drink while I waited. 20 minutes later Marcus entered and approached the pretty hostess. Even from where I was sitting I could see the desire on the hostess’s face. Marcus was 6’3, lean and absolutely Stunning. His brown hair was slicked back and he was dressed casually in a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. Seeing him like this was way hotter than all the other times I saw him dressed in his business suits.
He shared a quick exchange with the hostess, to her displeasure, and was directed to my table. As he approached I couldn’t help but glance at his package. It was evident he was very well endowed and I thanked god for the inventor of sweatpants. I was sure he caught me looking and My face turned bright red. He sat down and gave me a devilish smirk and, for some reason, my heart sped up and I had trouble catching my breath. His bright blue eyes stared into mine, for what seemed like an eternity, before he finally spoke. “So you going to tell me What happened” – I stared at Marcus and suddenly found it very difficult to talk. I always thought he was attractive, but I never looked at him in any other way than just as an acquaintance or Coles boss. Now with him sitting in front of me, I couldn’t help but notice his perfect smile attached to his perfect face. I tried to focus on what I wanted to say but failed miserably. I blamed the lack of concentration on the spirits and searched my brain for a logical response. I also felt very stupid for calling him and cursed my lack of better judgment.
“I’m waiting” he prodded gently when I failed to respond. Seeing my obvious struggle, Marcus flagged the bartender down and ordered a couple of waters and a spirits. “Are you hungry?” He looked over as I nodded and added an order of sweet potato fries. I was extremely grateful as I suddenly realized I was extremely hungry. “Well, like I already told you. Cole is cheating on me.” I stated calmly, taking a deep breath in before I spoke” I went home and caught him in bed with my best friend.” I choked on the last word as a wave of sadness washed over me. Saying it out loud made everything feel a lot more real. “So what did they do when they saw you?” Marcus asked. I glanced at his face and saw him looking at me with pity. That’s one thing I didn’t want from anyone. I knew what Cole did was unforgivable, but that was on him, I didn’t need pity, from others, for his actions.
“They didn’t do anything. I decided to not confront them. I walked out and came here” I shrugged. He looked surprised. “They didn’t see you?” “I don’t think so, but I’m sure they heard my exit. I wanted to scare them a little so I let the door slam as hard as I could as I was leaving,” I giggled. I knew it wasn’t funny. But I imagined their faces and for some reason that brought me a moment of satisfaction. I hoped I ruined their perfect evening. Marcus POV I smiled at her giggle. It was cute, and if she wasn’t in the situation she was in, I would have turned on my charm. I sat and thought about her admission. I wasn’t overly shocked that Cole was cheating on her but I was slightly amused that he would do so with her friend. I knew exactly who she was talking about as it would take a fool to not see Elise’s infatuation with Cole. I was more surprised that Ana didn’t pick up on their relationship earlier. I also noticed that in the last year or so, Elise would often accompany Cole and Ana to dinners and other functions. Cole gave me a sob story about her having no one and them trying to be there for her.
But when Ana wasn’t around they would act way too close and cozy for just being platonic friends. The bartender dropped off the waters and I pushed them both toward her. She needed to hydrate and eat something before she left the bar. Ana put the straw in her mouth and took a sip. I immediately focused on her lips and let my mind wander off for a moment. She had a little droplet of water left on her lip which she slowly licked clean with her tongue. I suddenly felt my sweatpants become a little tighter. She continued to play with her straw and I took in her features. She had perfectly full pink lips, piercing grey eyes, high apple cheeks and long blonde hair that accentuated her face. I couldn’t believe someone would be stupid enough to cheat on someone like her. She was breathtakingly beautiful, kind, smart, and had the most amazing body I’d ever seen. Even in her basic dress pants, her hip was amazing. When the fries arrived, I made sure to pass them her way and encouraged her to eat.
I made small talk and asked questions about where she grew up and life in general. I could tell that she was crying earlier and I wanted to take her mind off the situation at hand. When she got up to use the bathroom I paid the bill and waited for her in the hallway that lead to the bathrooms. When she finally stepped out, she was barely able to stand. I tried to offer my hand for support but she declined to take it. “You’re cute you know that?” She leaned back against the wall and looked at me, a sly smirk appearing on her face. “Ana, are you ok to walk?” I asked still amused at her comment. I knew she wasn’t thinking straight so I held back the urge to smooch her. When I noticed she was about to fall, I picked her up bridal style and carried her out to the car. I placed her in the passenger seat of my car and buckled her in. When I noticed her shivering, I pulled off my sweatshirt and placed it over her like a blanket which caused a soft smile to appear on her face. I stared at her for a brief moment and, when I was sure she was sleeping, smooched her on her forehead and closed the door
