Lettie Novel

Lettie Novel – How do you feel when you personally see your husband sleeping with another woman? I was too stunned to look away. “God Jackson that feels so good, please don’t stop.” Olivia moaned. Jackson chuckled, “Always so greedy for me, this cherry always knows who owns it.” I quickly grabbed the phone I’d been using from my back pocket, opened the camera app and hit record… I got to my car, opened my messages and sent the video to Jackson with a message attached. “I hope her greedy cherry was worth it.” Then I chucked my phone out the window and drove over it as I made my way back to the warehouse. I never look back for a man.

The entire drive to New York my body vibrated with a nervous hum, I chalked it up to finally being able to see Jackson after weeks apart. I had texted Jackson earlier just to check in and ask what his plans were, “Just working Lettie, there is nothing else to do until you’re back.” Even though it was after 8PM. I knew he was still at the office; I parked on the street and entered the office building through the parking garage, I had the code Jackson had given me months ago in case I ever felt like dropping by. His text was confirmed by his car sitting in his parking spot, and right next to it was his assistants red convertible, for a second this made me pause. I stared at the red convertible and for some reason, I almost turned around and got back into my car.

Something was wrong, something was off, I just couldn’t seem to place it. It was dark in the offices, not a soul here, not that I expected there to be at 8pm on a Friday. The dark didn’t scare me, if anything, it brough me comfort, it shielded me. Jacksons office was on the first floor, he rented out the bottom level of this building and employed 20 people, the closer I got to Jacksons office I noticed the light shining through his door and it was cracked open, but only enough for me to sneak a quick peek and notice Jackson was sitting extremely close to Olivia his assistant of three years, her chair was pulled around to his side of the desk and they were shoulder to shoulder looking over some paperwork. I was unsure of what to do, as I had never been in this position before, none of my training could have prepared me for this, did I knock? Did I leave? What exactly was I seeing?

Olivia’s obnoxious laugh obliterated through my senses, and I tracked her blood red nails as they grasped Jackson by the bicep and her laugh turned into a sigh. “I miss seeing these arms without a shirt on Jacks.” She pouted. Excuse me? Did I hear that correctly? I’d been introduced at least a dozen times to Olivia, never once did he mention she’d seen him with out a shirt on. I was frozen in place, utterly frozen. Jackson turned to her and cupped her cheek almost adoringly, “You know I hate it when you pout.” “So do something about it.” She prodded. I expected him to laugh it off, to tell her to stop being ridiculous, to tell her he was taken, which she already knows.

I wish I could tell you that’s what happened. I was too stunned to look away, but maybe if I had I wouldn’t have felt my heart crack, I wouldn’t have been struck stupid and floundering in a state of blank space where the only thing I felt was pain. Jackson moved his hand that was cupping her cheek down to her neck and gave a little squeeze, “Would you like that baby? Do you want me to bang this pretty little mouth before I bend you over my desk?” He all but growled when she let out a whimper in response. His mouth descended on her like he was starving, he licked his way down her neck and fisted her black pencil skirt in his hands. “God Jackson that feels so good, please don’t stop.” Olivia moaned. Jackson chuckled, “Always so greedy for me, this cherry always knows who owns it.”

His head started bobbing between her legs and the noises she started making and the sound of her wetness snapped me back into reality. I quickly grabbed the phone I’d been using from my back pocket, opened the camera app and hit record. I recorded as much as my stomach could handle, after she came on his face and he reached for the cndom and sheathed his length, I was done, I had to leave before I would get sick. I exited the building the same way I came, quietly, and with no one noticing I had even entered to begin with, I got to my car, opened my messages and sent the video to Jackson with a message attached. “I hope her greedy cherry was worth it.” Then I chucked my phone out the window and drove over it as I made my way back to the warehouse. I had made my decision the second I saw him get on his knees for her. I had bled for him, I had given up my life for him.

I thought I had found love, and he eviscerated my heart, this wasn’t love. It never was, it was lies. My mind swept over the events of the last few weeks, and now nothing had ever been clearer. I didn’t bother to announce myself when I made it to the warehouse, he would be here, and I didn’t bother to knock when I got to his office on the top floor. “Collette, little one, back so soon?” Mark didn’t even look up from the file he was reading. “Did you know?” I ask. “Did I know what?” Marks expression stayed blank. “That he was banging her, did you know?” “Yes.” He sighed, “I knew.” “How long?” I whispered; I allowed my voice to crack so I could get the answers I needed. “Seeing your heartbreak is almost sweet Collette, I didn’t think you had one.”

I thought I did, but it’s shattered now, it lays to waste at the bottom of my rib cage, and the only thing that I feel right now is pain, I feel myself constricting walls around the shattered pieces, each piece getting an impenetrable barrier between it and the outside world. “I don’t anymore.” I say, knowing without a doubt that it’s true. Mark grins at me, “We all need this lesson Collette, the outside world and people are not made for those like us, maybe he saw your darkness and it was too much. Are you here to ask for your job back?” “Yes.” “And what are the rules, Collette?” My green eyes full of numb and nothing, met his, and I know he liked what he saw because he could no longer contain his grin from becoming a full-fledged smile. “Blood in, Blood out.” I said my voice on the verge of a warrior’s cry. “That’s right Ghost. Blood in, Blood out.” He collected the papers he was reading and put them in a Malina envelope and handed it to me. “Your next assignment.”
