Play With Me Novel – “Look, Fuse, I don’t date bikers, ever.” “Why is that? You can’t lump all bikers into one category. That’s not fair. I might be different than what you think.” He said, winking at me. “I grew up watching the show going on outback tonight—club, women, copulation and partying. My dad was always at the club, coming home drunk smelling like other women.” “We are all not the same. I can swear that I never want to sleep with woman until I meet you.” He said. This guy likes women, and I have no doubt he sleeps around. Can I trust what he said?
Shay I knew my mom, and she had a spread set up. As I opened the door and stepped out, the door next to mine opened, and who should step out but Fuse. Great, of all the people to be next door to, it had to be him. I couldn’t help but notice how charming he was. Did he have to wear his jeans so tight? The package they contained left little to imagine, turned me on, and I hated myself for it. “See something you like, Shay?” He said with a smirk. He noticed me staring. “I was zoning, is all. I didn’t expect you to be up this early, so it surprised me,” I hope I was convincing. But by the satisfaction on his face, I didn’t succeed. “Are you headed to breakfast?” “Yeah, I know, mom, she cooked all my favorites,” I said and started walking.
Fuse started walking with me. “That’s where I’m headed too,” We walked in silence; reaching the kitchen, I went to mom and hugged her. And sure enough. “I made all your favorites, Shay. Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and homemade biscuits.” Nobody made pancakes like my mom; they were the fluffiest, even with blueberries. So I grabbed a plate, filled it up, and looked for a seat. Choosing to sit with Shadow, Mary, and a man I didn’t know. “Good morning Shay. Did you sleep okay?” Mary asked me with a smile too big for morning. “I actually slept really well; I was exhausted from traveling and playing.” “I’m happy to hear that. If you need anything, just let me know.” Mary said with a sincere smile that reached her eyes.
She seemed nice, too nice for Shadow; man could be cold, “Thanks, I will keep that in mind.” I heard the seat pull out next to me and Fuse plopped his down. Great. “Don’t worry, I won’t bite you unless you want me to,” He whispered in my ear. My body shivered. I had to be careful around Fuse; I was attracted to him more than any man I had met. Thank goodness we were distracted by others sitting across from us. Oh, great club girls, I have no use for them. And before you judge me, remember these girls sign up for this, knowing they will be sleeping with men, married men too. And they don’t care. And yeah, the men suck too; they all suck. “Shay, this is Lexi and Brooke, and I don’t think you met West,” My mom said, pointing to the girls and the man who had already been seated. I said the usual nice to meet you and such. The blond and West said hello, but the brunette looked like she had no use for me. Like I care. I was only being cordial for my mother’s sake.
But then, I suddenly felt a hand on my thigh. Looking over at Fuse, he was eating his breakfast and not looking at me, but that was his hand crawling up my leg. I gave him a sharp elbow to the ribs and was satisfied when I heard him go umfff and pull in a breath. “Watch it, loverboy, especially if you want to keep that hand,” I whispered to him. “It might be worth losing a hand to touch that cherry of yours,” He whispered back. I was not expecting him to say that. I felt my face go pink. I have not blushed since I was a teenager. How was this man making me, a twenty-eight-year-old woman, blush? I hoped no one noticed. But, as that thought came, the brunette slid her chair back with a thunk and left the room. Fuse pretended not to see, but there was no way he didn’t. This club chick had it bad for Fuse. And why did that bother me? Fuse I hadn’t noticed last night because she was wrapped in leather shoulder to toe, but seeing her in those tight little jeans and t-shirt, I noticed she has tats.
One is a vine with dragonflies flying around it that goes from her wrist, twists up, and disappears under her shirt. It made me fantasize about where it ended. The woman was charming—even that sassy mouth of hers. I need to figure out what to do about Lexi, that little stunt this morning caught the attention of everyone, and that wouldn’t fly. I supposed I would have to talk to her. I hated that. Club whores know better. I didn’t pay Lexi any more attention than any of the other girls, and I’m unsure where this is coming from. I have already decided I am going to The Unlimited tonight to watch Shay sing. I don’t need to be there the whole night, I can’t resist. I feel this pull toward Shay that I can’t control. I SPENT THE day with mom hanging out and talking. It felt good, and I had missed her. I have worried about her since my dad died four years ago from a heart attack. But the club seems to be keeping her busy, and she looks happy. I’m glad she deserves happiness.
My dad certainly never cared if she was happy, that’s for sure. I walked into the nightclub and headed to the back to get ready. Mark, Chris, and Gabe were already here and getting ready. I’m surprised they beat me. I was pretty sure they were hitting the strip club last night, and I figured they would be hungover. “Hey Shay, how is your mom doing?” Mark asked me. Mark is the band member I am closest to, I love them all, but Mark was there for me when my ex Shawn all over me. He’s a great friend and one of a guitarist and singer, not to mention hot; he was the Sebastian Bach of today. Mark is the closest person to me other than my mom. “She’s doing great, keeping busy working for the club. She will be here tonight if you want to say hi after the show.” I told him. “Cool, I will watch for her.” “I figured I would beat you guys tonight, but you beat me instead.
So what, no partying last night?” I giggled, teasing him. “I wouldn’t say no partying, just not to excess. A couple of us got lucky,” Mark replied, biting back a smile. “With some chick or each other,” I smirked. “Ha, ha, Shay, don’t be getting all jealous because you can’t have some of this,” Mark said, moving his arms up and down his body. “In your dreams, buddy, now leave me alone so I can get ready.” I shooed him away from me, laughing. As I got changed, my mind kept going back to Fuse. I hadn’t seen him around the club at all today. I couldn’t help but wonder where he was and why I cared. He was a biker, I kept telling myself I wasn’t going there, but my mind was refusing to listen. There was just something about him that attracted me, a physical attraction for sure, but also something else. I can’t understand it because I haven’t felt it before.
Before I knew it, it was time for the show to start. So I grabbed my guitar and headed out on the stage. Sitting right in front where I would have to look at him all night was Fuse, along with Mom, Shadow, Mary, and Black. Just great. Fuse Once I got to the club, I went straight to the front to grab the table that was right in front of the microphone. I wanted to watch Shay perform close up. I settled back and ordered a drink from the waitress. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a group headed my way. It was Shadow, Mary, Jane, and Black. They were heading for my table. “Hey, Fuse, mind if we sit with you?” Shadow asked and sat down before I could answer. Dragging Mary onto his lap. “I’m so excited to see my baby perform. I haven’t seen her sing in years.” Jane was practically glowing with excitement. I now saw the resemblance to Shay, same black hair and build, but Shay had those baby blues that she had gotten from her old man.
The nightclub, as usual, was busy on a Saturday night. The DJ stopped the music as Shay, and the rest of the band hit the stage. She was charming in that leather. When I finally got her to my bed, I would peel it off piece by piece before I copulated with her. “She looks like a young Joan Jett,” Black said beside me, eyes glued to her as the band started to play. This bimbo better watch; they don’t call me Fuse for nothing. Once you throw a spark at me, I may be slow to burn, but I will go off. My easy-going nature fools most people, but I have a temper when provoked. The other guitarist sang the first song tonight, with Shay having backup vocals. He sang “Push” by Matchbox Twenty. But, I only had eyes and ears for Shay. And she didn’t disappoint. She could perform; the girl had talent. The next song was Shay, it was a slower song called “Fading Like A Flower’ I wasn’t familiar with it, but it now became one of my favorites coming from her. I felt someone kick my leg. I looked at a Shadow, and he gave me a signal tolook at my phone. I had a message from him: Shadow: Casually look to your right. The men sitting there have been watching us since we came in. They don’t fit in.
