Kade Novel

Kade Novel – My boyfriend keeps suspecting me of cheating and is abusing me for nearly a year. “Kade is a club member, he’s just my friend.” I begged as I cried harder. This only made him angrier and he slammed his fist into my stomach. I know the MC could easily take care of him. He was a bad person but that didn’t mean I wanted him dead. I just hoped that one day I could get away from him and find someone that would love and care for me. “I can’t be with you anymore” I said, timidly. “I can’t take this abuse anymore.” I said, while my hands shook. “I told you, if you left I will kill you. You will regret it.” He said before standing up. He has a vice grip on me that I can’t get out of.

Sarah POV: I sat in Adam’s living room on the couch with tears streaming down my face as he screamed at me. “What did I tell you about talking to him?” He yelled in my face and grabbed my wrist. “Kade is a club member, Adam. He’s my friend.” I begged as I cried harder. This only made him angrier and he slammed his fist into my stomach. “Get out of here. I’ll call you when I’ve calmed down.” He said and pushed me away from him. Luckily when I got to the apartment my sister, Lana and I shared, she wasn’t home. She must have been with Cole. This abuse had been going on for nearly a year. I was so afraid to tell the MC because I knew Adam would have been killed if one of them had found out. Lana and I had cut off contact with our father about two months prior due to the way Lana was being treated at home. Our dad never really understood my sister and I.

I didn’t understand why but he had always been more lenient with me than Lana. The worst part about it is that I don’t think he even noticed. “I’m home!” Lana called out. Luckily all my bruises had been covered by the time she got here. “Hey.” I said, walking out of the bathroom. “How was your day with Adam?” Lana asked. I wanted to tell her what was going on because we told each other everything. “Good. He made me dinner.” I replied with a fake smile. “A man that can cook? That’s rare. Cole tried to cook last night and almost caught the kitchen on fire.” Lana replied, laughing lightly.

I sat, crying on my bed most of the night that night. My ribs were bruised and I was sure one or two were broken. It hurt to even breath. Each and every day I was in pain. Adam’s abuse has been getting worse. He gets things in his head that I’m constantly cheating with people in the club when in reality, he is the unfaithful one. I can’t count how many messages from different women I’ve gotten glimpses of on his phone. The first time it happened I confronted him about it and that was when the abuse started. I just wanted to be happy with him again like I used to be. He was so sweet when we first met but the longer I stayed, he started with the verbal abuse, saying that I was stupid and ugly. He would tell me that he is the only man that would ever love me because no one else would want to put up with a drama queen.

I tried everything to make Adam happy but now, nothing was ever good enough for him. Every meal I made was either too done or not done enough and would beat me every time I wouldn’t make the food exactly the way he wanted it. He told me I did all these things just to upset him. I was miserable every day of my life but he told me that if I ever left him he would kill me. I believed him because I’ve seen enough being an MC to know better. I just hoped that one day I could get away from him and find someone that would love and care for me. …… “We’ll be back tomorrow, dad.” I told him before letting go of his hand. “Call us if you need anything.” Lana added before following me out of the door. “What is an ouroboros?” I asked. “A snake eating it’s tail.” Lana replied. I frowned lightly. Who were these people? The next day, Adam had come over. “Was he there when you showed up to see your father?” Adam asked. He was so obsessed.

He thought Kade would flirt with me all the time and he had always accused me of sleeping with him. “Yes.” I replied. “Did you talk to him?” Adam asked. “Just told him that dad was okay.” I said, trying to get the subject dropped as fast as possible. “And that’s all?” He asked. “Yes.” I said, softly. Thankfully he dropped the subject for now. Kade had been a good friend of mine for many years. His father had been an MC before he was gunned down ten years ago. Kade had joined the Angels of Night when he was just seventeen. He was  bent on getting revenge on the people who killed his dad. His father was a good man. He and my dad met while dad was on a run. Things had gotten messy and he had been ambushed. Kade’s father had found dad on the side of the road, bleeding almost to death. Kade’s father rushed dad to the hospital and stayed by his side the entire time he was there. They had gotten to know each other and a year later, Kade’s father was an MC.

He died before I was born and he isn’t talked about much. I was never even told his name. Kade and dad were alike that way. They didn’t like talking about their problems. They buried them much like my sister and I. The only difference is that Lana and I share almost everything with each other. Almost. I sat the food on the table and sat silently as I waited for the explosion. “Is it okay?” I asked. Adam only shrugged as he ate. I bit my lip to make the quivering stop and looked down at my food, suddenly not hungry anymore. After dinner, Adam sat at the bar with a beer in hand as he watched me clean the kitchen. “I know you were lying.” He told me. I looked at him in confusion. “What?” I asked. “Was your father really in the hospital or were you with Kade?” Adam asked, getting angry. “What is wrong with you? You actually think I would lie about my dad being in the hospital?” I asked. When I said that, he slammed the back of his hand into my face.

“I swear to God, if you ever talk to me like that again, I will kill you.” He yelled. “I’m sorry.” I said as I sobbed on the floor. I tried to move but got a kick to my already broken ribs. “I didn’t say you could get up!” He screamed at me. “Please, Lana will be home soon.” I told him, knowing he would stop. He stormed out of the front door and that’s when I got up and went to the bathroom. I heard Lana’s voice call out to me when she got home. “Sarah, I’m going to visit dad.” She called out. I tried to hurry as fast as I could as I heard her footsteps approaching. Then the door flung open. “Are you come-” She stopped when she saw my face. “Did Adam do this?” She asked. “Lana-” “Answer me!” She screamed, startling me. I had to tell her now. “Yes.” I whispered. “How long?” She asked. “A year.” I said, struggling to hold my tears back.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” She asked. Her eyes were softer now which made my tears finally fall. “I was embarrassed.” I replied. “You have to leave him.” Lana told me. “I’m afraid of what he’ll do, Lan.” I replied. “Then we tell dad.” Lana said. “No! You can’t tell dad!” I begged. He would kill Adam. I don’t want Adam around but I can’t let him get killed. I don’t want that blood on my hands. “Then leave him.” She told me. I wiped my tears from my cheeks and nodded. “Okay.” “If I find out you let this continue, I’m telling dad.” She said causing me to nod. …… A couple of days later, I had finally worked up the nerve to end my relationship with Adam. I heard a knock on the door, meaning Adam was here. “Hey.” He said and pecked my cheek when I opened the door. “We need to talk.” I said. “About what?” He asked. “I can’t be with you anymore, Adam.”

I said, timidly. “Excuse me?” He asked, his voice raising. “I can’t take this abuse anymore.” I said, while my hands shook. He was struggling to keep his voice down. I was afraid Lana and Ryder would wake up to this. “You’re not leaving me.” He said, his tone low and threatening. “Adam, I’m done. I can’t do this anymore.” I replied. I felt the familiar sting on my cheek and fell against the couch. Thankfully, not waking Lana and Ryder. “I told you, if you left I will kill you. You will regret it.” He said before standing up. “I’m going to work. I’m coming back over later tonight and you better be here.” He said before leaving. I sat at the bar and let my tears fall. What do I do? He won’t let me go. He has a vice grip on me that I can’t get out of. “Hey, are you okay?” I heard Lana behind me. I looked over to see her and Ryder coming out of her bedroom.

“Honey, what happened? Did he hit you again?” Lana asked. I nodded as I wiped my tears away. “I told him I couldn’t be with him anymore and he slapped me. He told me that I would regret it if I left.” I replied. “Jesus, Sarah. You have to get away from him.” Ryder said. “I know, but what if he does something drastic?” I asked him. “We won’t let that happen. Please let us tell dad.” Lana begged. “I don’t want to worry him.” I replied. “Sarah, please. He can handle this.” Ryder said. “Fine, but I want to tell him myself.” I said. “Fair enough.” Lana replied. Kade POV: I sat next to Samuel as we talked and laughed, when Sarah got everyone’s attention. “Dad, there’s something I need to tell you.” She said. “Sure, honey. What is it?” He asked, the smile still on his face. “Please, don’t freak out.” She said, causing me to frown and Sam as well. She looked nervous. What was going on? What happened to her? “Adam..” She stopped and I noticed the tears welling up in her eyes.

My heart began to race. What did he do to her? “Sarah?” I asked, worriedly. “Adam has been beating me.” She said as her tears fell. This prick has been beating on my girl? I was so furious. How did I not see it? Why didn’t I see it and why didn’t I stop it? “What?” Samuel yelled and jumped to his feet. “How long, Sarah?” I asked, angrily. My voice starting to raise as well. I was ready to kill him. I wanted to snap his neck. “Kade, please. Don’t upset her.” Lana said as she wrapped her arms around her sister. I sighed and walked over to her, placing my hand on her shoulder. She turned to me and let me wrap my arms around her. “How long has he been hitting you?” I asked her, softly as I rubbed her back. “A year.” She muttered into my chest.

My eyes darkened further when she told me that. The first chance I got I was going to make this suffer. “Why didn’t you say anything?” Sam asked her. “I was embarrassed.” She said and cried harder into my chest. I leaned close to her ear and softly shushed her as I held her closer to me. I hated to see her cry. I didn’t see it often and it always broke my heart. “Sweetheart, you have nothing to be embarrassed about, okay? You could have come to us sooner.” Samuel told her. “Why are you just telling us now?” I asked, absolutely refusing to let her go. “Lana caught me trying to cover the bruises.” She replied. “Lana, will you get your sister cleaned up?” Samuel asked his daughter. “Yes, sir.” I reluctantly let Sarah go so Lana could take care of her.
