I Endured All, But Not for My Alpha Novel

I Endured All, But Not for My Alpha Novel – Fiona’s POV At our three-year anniversary party of mate bond, Elden’s childhood sweetheart Thea suddenly went into heat. It was Elden himself who carried her into our bedroom. Not long after, Elden walked out of the room, tossing a few bills toward me with a casual flick, his impatience dripping from every word, “Go buy a box of condoms.

Three won’t even come close.” I stood frozen, expression as calm and still as a stagnant pond. His good friend Jake immediately jumped in, teasing, “Alpha, Luna’s still upset. You can’t just send her for this. I’ll go.” Elden opened his mouth, clearly ready to mock me for “playing high and mighty,” but I bent down and picked up the money from the floor. The room erupted in laughter.

Jake slapped his thigh and shouted, “Pay up, loser! I told you, she’s willing to humble herself for Elden even at times like this!” Their laughter pricked at my heart like needles, but I remained unmoved. They all thought I loved Elden so desperately that I’d throw away every shred of dignity for him. What they didn’t know was that my endurance was just a means to an end: earning enough to pay off my family’s debt to the pack. After all, Frostclaw, the wealthiest pack in the North, offered a generous Luna stipend. And now, with the debt finally cleared, I was free. By the time I returned from the pack’s apothecary, the commotion in the bedroom had already quieted.

Thea was nestled in Elden’s arms, pouting and twining her fingers around his collar. “You didn’t use a condom earlier. What if I get pregnant with your pup?” Elden chuckled low, eyes briefly flicking toward me with a pointed glint. His voice was barely above a whisper, yet I heard every word, “Better if you do. Frostclaw can’t be stuck raising an Omega who can’t even carry a pup.” I gripped the condom box in my hand until my knuckles turned white—today was only the third day since my miscarriage. The pup I lost three days ago had been his child too.

And yet, he showed no fear of my heartbreak, no concern for my grief. To him and the Frostclaw Pack, I, a temporary Luna who hadn’t given him an heir, was worth less than a tail-wagging dog. When I didn’t react with the usual tear-filled accusation, Elden’s eyes flickered with surprise. He was about to speak when Thea suddenly pointed outside, squealing, “It’s snowing! Alpha, build a snowman for me! I’ve never seen snow this big!” Elden gently rubbed her nose, then called out to me as I turned to retreat to the guest room. “Fiona, you’re good with your hands. Go build a snowman for Thea.” I frowned instinctively.

Earlier at the pharmacy, it had been around minus four outside, and I’d only worn a thin coat. Now, the heaviness in my lower belly was intensifying with each wave, as if knives were twisting inside.. Elden, seeing me hesitate, clicked his tongue and roughly grabbed my wrist, dragging me outside. “Stop pretending. You’re a pack-tested Omega, stronger than Thea. It’s just a snowman, how hard can it be?” With a loud “bang,” the front door slammed shut and locked behind me. His message was clear: no snowman, no going back inside. The wind cut like blades across my face. Shivering in nothing but a thin jacket, I forced my frozen hands to shape the snow.

Before I knew it, a dark red stain spread beneath me, the blood from the miscarriage that hadn’t fully passed. The pain nearly made me faint. Under the eaves not far away, Elden was removing his thick coat and draping it over Thea, his voice soft in a way I had never heard before, “I told you to dress warmer. What if you get frostbite?” Finally, just as I teetered on the edge of passing out, the snowman was finished. I staggered to the door, intending to knock, but Elden stepped in front of me. Seeing my flushed face and unfocused gaze, he instinctively reached for my forehead, but I jerked my head away.

The thought of him touching Thea made me queasy. Elden’s expression instantly darkened. He snorted coldly and shoved a camera into my hands. “Take a few pictures of me and Thea, with the snowman as the background.” A chill shot from my feet straight to my skull. I lifted my numb fingers and clumsily pressed the shutter. Then Thea screamed, pointing at my pants, terrified, “Alpha! Look at her! So much blood!” I froze, looking down to see a pool of deep red soaking through my pants in the snow. The next moment, everything went black as my exhausted body collapsed heavily onto the frozen ground.
