The Lost Princess’ Second Chance Novel – I woke to the thunderous sound of someone banging on the door to the basement. “Wake up you filthy half breed. There is a lot of work to be done today!!” I heard the head omega yell out. Her shrieking voice accompanied by dozens of footsteps running around upstairs was starting to make my head pound. I sit up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I took a deep breath and sneezed. ‘Why does the room smell funny?’ I thought to myself.
I blew my nose and then sniffed around. The room smelled dingy and moldy. I fully opened my eyes to see that I could see the whole room clearly even though there was only a tiny crack of sunlight poking through the basement window. I then remembered something that other wolves have talked about when they first came of age. Their senses became more heightened after they shifted. I looked down. I was still in my clothes, so I didn’t shift in my sleep. ‘Maybe if I reach out to my wolf now that I am awake.’ I thought to myself. I sat up straight and took a deep breath, coughing slightly because I was still getting used to how bad the basement smelled. I closed my eyes and focused on my wolf.
I imagine she would be as strong willed and cheeky as me. After a few moments, I felt nothing. I tried again and again to connect with the other side of my soul, but came up with nothing. ‘Why isn’t it working?’ I wondered. After a few moments, it was then I realized that I was wolfless. “Must be what I got from my father’s side of the family.” I said to myself in a quiet tone. I jumped when I heard someone kicking the basement door open. “Get up now, mutt, or I’m getting the Alpha!” The head omega roared. I covered my newly sensitive ears from her banshee sounding voice. “Alright already. I am coming! I yelled back as I got up. “You better watch that tone, mutt.” She sneered as I got to the stairs. “Why, it is not going anywhere.” I said with a smirk and raised eyebrow.
She glared and smacked me across the face before storming away. I rolled my eyes. ‘These people are so dumb if they think that their slaps can hurt me at all.’ I thought to myself as I got to work. Hours later… I snuck into the omega’s shower to wash myself up a bit. Normally, I would only allowed a shower once a week, but I was not going to meet my mate with a week’s worth of sweat and grim on me. I showered quickly and got back to my room to change into the dress that Luna Aurora gave me. As I neared the ballroom, I could hear the music playing through the walls. I opened the door to the ballroom and the sound of the music intensified ten times.
I took a moment to allow myself to adjust to the loud music before I walked in. I take a few steps in, only to be intercepted be ‘dumb’ and ‘dumber’… Oops, I mean Evelyn and Autumn. The so called children of the alpha. I thought to myself as I internally rolled my eyes. “What do you think you are doing here, mutt?” Evelyn shrieked. I flinched back a little because my hearing was much more sensitive, but I remained standing tall and glared at these little bimbos. “Um… well it looks like I am attending the mating ball tonight. Unless your tiny brain could not comprehend that much.” I said, while rolling my eyes. Wolf or no wolf. I was not going to let this pack intimidate me no matter what. Tonight was my night and after the ball, mate or no mate, I would be leaving this goddess awful pack.
I was not going to let this bimbo, or anyone else, ruin my chance to have some actual fun before I left. Evelyn turned red with anger as she looked me up and down. “Are you wearing my dress?!” She screeched again. Autumn gasped like it was the worst crime she had seen me commit. “Technically, it is my dress. Your mother, Luna Aurora, gave it to me yesterday as an early birthday gift. So it no longer belongs to you in any way shape or form.” I said with a smirk and shrugged my shoulders. Evelyn screamed as she reached for the dress. She got a hold of the shoulder of the dress, so when I shoved
