Too Late to Claim Her Novel

Too Late to Claim Her Novel – “Ava, you’re really something. You even got my parents to threaten suicide just to force me to make you my Luna. Did you really think becoming my Luna would bring you happiness?” His deep, cold voice filled my ears. I blinked in a daze and stared at Aaron. He stood in front of me, his unruly brow and eyes exuding an aura and manner of speech very different from the Aaron I had known ten years later. This was eighteen-year-old Aaron. I had truly gone back in time.

I held back the bitterness in my heart, greedily gazing at him. “You don’t want me as your Luna because the one you truly want is Ellie, right?” Aaron sneered coldly. “So what? Are you going to step aside for her?” I spoke seriously, “Yes.” My parents had died defending the border of the werewolf kingdom, protecting the nation from rogue attacks. As a reward, the Alpha King gave me a bond-sealing deal, which allowed me to write any name on it—whoever I wanted as my mate.

Likewise, I could seal anyone’s mate bond. He paused, then laughed in contempt. “You’re using the Alpha King’s bond-sealing deal to pressure me. My parents are forcing me to make you my Luna. Our mate bond is set in stone. Now you’re saying you’re trying to help me—how exactly are you going to ‘step aside’ for me?” He continued. “Ava, I don’t have time to play your games. Just take the bond-sealing deal to the packhouse yourself. I’ll wait for you there.” With that, he turned and leaned against a tree in the garden of the wolf castle.

The disgust in his eyes pierced me, and my heart felt as though it had been stabbed with sharp thorns. In this life and the last, I had loved Aaron for years. He had saved me twice without hesitation, and I had foolishly believed he secretly loved me too. Overjoyed, I had asked the Alpha King to make me his Luna, marrying him. It wasn’t until his first love died that I realized, he had loved someone else. My ten years of affection were nothing but ten years of torment for him. In the previous life, I had done countless good deeds, exchanged my life for his, praying day and night to the moon goddess.

Eventually, I begged for Aaron’s chance to be reborn. Before my rebirth, the forest witch had warned me, “In the first 24 hours after your rebirth, you must fulfill his three regrets. Once you do, leave him immediately. After that, your paths will diverge. He will no longer die for you at thirty, and both of you will find your own destinies. But rebirth comes at a price. Think carefully.” As long as Aaron could live, I wasn’t afraid of any cost.

I met with the Alpha King and arranged a bond-sealing deal for Aaron and Ellie. I knew Aaron’s three regrets, all written in his diary. “Regret sealing the mate bond with Ava, regret not standing up to my parents, regret not saving Ellie.” Now, the first of his regrets had been fulfilled.
